Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
Reconciliation is everyone's business. We can all work towards reconciliation and share in the rewards of a rich multicultural society and a united vision for the future.
Indigenous groups
- Attend the Reconciliation Business Forum.
- Investigate joining a local reconciliation group, or if none exist, try establishing your own. Contact Reconciliation Queensland for details.
- Invite non-Indigenous guests to a traditional feast or celebration.
- Participate in the Reconciliation Awards for Business
- Design and produce a piece of artwork that expresses what reconciliation means to you.
- Check out the reconciliation stories or organise an event for Reconciliation week and add it to the Queensland Government Reconciliation website.
- Investigate options for Indigenous traineeships through the Department for Employment and Training or 1300 369 925.
- Write a community service announcement about reconciliation and ask your local radio station to broadcast it.
- Look for opportunities to share your culture in local community events.
- Organise events in your local community that showcase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Offer demonstrations or workshops about traditional food preparation and cooking, art, crafts, storytelling, dance, music, local history and more.
