Award categories

Nominations for the 2009 Reconciliation Awards for Business are now open to individuals, businesses and community organisations operating in Queensland. It doesn’t matter how big or small your business is – everyone is encouraged to apply.

2009 Reconciliation Business Awards categories

In 2009, awards are offered in the following categories:

  1. Emerging Business - $5,000 for businesses established on or after 25 May 2004.
  2. Established Business - $5,000 for businesses established on or before 24 May 2004.
  3. Community Organisation - $5,000 for community organisations or groups working towards reconciliation within their community. Community organisations must be community based and operate on a not-for-profit basis.
  4. Partnerships - $5,000 for businesses, community organisations, government departments, government agencies or local councils jointly working on a project or initiative that supports reconciliation.

The overall Premier’s Reconciliation Award will be presented to a business, organisation or project for outstanding achievement towards reconciliation in Queensland. The winner will be selected from all award nominations.

Previous award winning initiatives have included traineeships, cultural education tours, mentoring programs, community health strategies and Indigenous art projects. Read about the 2008 winners.

Nominations are now open. Nominate your business, a friend’s or a local business or community organisation that you believe has made a contribution to reconciliation in Queensland.

Nominations close on Monday 25 May 2009. Winners will be announced at an official ceremony in July 2009.

Entry conditions

All entrants are bound by the conditions of entry listed in the nomination form.
