The Queensland Government adopted a reconciliation action plan in 2001 to provide a strategic focus on engaging businesses in reconciliation and supporting young Indigenous leaders.
The Queensland Government is committed to reconciliation and has comprised four initiatives:
- communication campaign to spread the reconciliation message
- Young Indigenous Leaders' Forum
- Reconciliation Business Forum
- Reconciliation Awards for Business.
The following departments work collaboratively to achieve the initiatives of the Action Plan:
- Department of the Premier and Cabinet
- Department of Communities
- Department of Tourism, Regional Development and Industry
